Numbers 14:11 (2-24-11)
The Lord said to Moses, “How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the signs I have performed among them?
Contempt.
That is the word God uses when talking about their (and our) lack of faith.
Not worry, not doubt, not uncertainty. Contempt.
When He tells me to do something and I lack the faith to move forward, He views it as contempt for Himself, His power, His love.
Maybe if I took obedience as seriously as He does, I would be more likely to obey.
Okay, not “maybe”.
[Father, help me to take trusting You enough to obey as seriously as You do.]
