ministry costs money, and so does life

Okay, first off, I HATE asking for money, especially for myself. God has always provided and I lean into that. But the fact is that God has always provided through other people, usually friends (which many of you reading this are). And God rarely wakes people up in the middle of the night telling them, “Steve needs money.” What happens is generous friends and people who benefit from my ministry find out about a need and do something about it.

Well, while I like to play the super-faithful saint who has no needs, the reality is that this season of my life is decidedly uncertain when it comes to money. I don’t pastor a church that can help with mission trips or tuition for the home stretch of my PhD. I’ll probably start doing some adjunct teaching this fall, but they don’t pay adjunct professors a living wage. (It’s how the current educational system works.) And while working as an Intentional Interim will pay the bills when I have an assignment, no assignment means no money before my first assignment and no money between assignments.

So, if you’d like to help with mission trips, like the one in March where I’ll be training church leaders in Argentina, this is where you can help. And if you’d like to be a financial partner who helps Kim and I make it through between assignments, this is also where you can sign up for a one-time donation or recurring contributions.

Giving through Vital Church is tax deductible, and any amount is greatly appreciated.
