Midian so impoverished the Israelites that they cried out to the Lord for help. (JDG 6:6 NIV, 4-17-14)
And that’s how I work. I try everything I can do, lean totally on my own abilities, then, when I’ve failed to the level of impoverishment, I cry out to God for help.
Sure, during the process I may politely ask God if He’d like to chip in something to my cause, but only when I’ve failed miserably do I cry out to God for help.
[Father, help me to lean on you immediately instead of waiting until my strength fails.]
