Each person should live as a believer in whatever situation the Lord has assigned to them, just as God has called them. (1 Corinthians 7:17 NIV, 10-22-13)

This is the opposite of how we tend to live. Our goal seems to always be to move ourselves to a better, less screwed-up situation. But what does God want? He wants us to view that screwed-up place as an assignment. He wants us to bring holiness into those situations, not run away from them.
