“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5 NIV, 10-19-12)
A prophet to the nations. That isn’t how I think of Jeremiah. Except for an unintentional trip to Egypt, I do not think he ever left Judah.
But that doesn’t change the purpose or impact. Jesus never left the area either (except for His own trip to Egypt).
Which means area of impact and sphere of influence are different. Immanuel Kant never moved far from his birthplace and had enormous (negative) impact. Bach stayed in one small church most of his ministry.
In other words, if God as you where He wants you, He can use you to impact others as much as He wants.
[Father, use me to have the exact impact you choose.]
