That’s one sign of a false god. That is NOT how God chooses to do things, ever. Even with me, a self-proclaimed follower. I can choose not to worship. Choose not to spend time in His presence. Choose not to stop my day and be with Him.

False gods, both demonic and the human equivalents, demand homage, worship. The true God doesn’t have to. Even if we get busy or forget, He still leaves it to us to set aside time for Him.

[Father, remind me how valuable it is to spend time with you, and how honored I am that you allow it. Help me to savor the privilege you have given me.]
