Bel bows down, Nebo stoops low; their idols are borne by beasts of burden. The images that are carried about are burdensome, a burden for the weary. (Isaiah 46:1 NIV, 7-27-11)

That’s the true sign of an idol. You carry it. It bears you down.

Jesus said His burden is light and Isaiah says God lifts us up.

So, if it’s dragging you down, it’s an idol. Even if it looks Christian. Even if it’s “good”.
