Marionette

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 (3-22-2011)

I’m constantly trying to revive myself, to live my life my way–even under the conceit of thinking I’m doing it for God.

But everything I do is done as a dead person, a marionette, animated only by God’s Spirit within me. My only tool isn’t my talent or creativity or ability to plan–it’s faith. Through faith in Him I can do whatever He wants me to do. On my own I can do nothing of value.

Of course, this is one of those things I know but often don’t believe.

[Father, help me to live totally by faith in Your Son, not my own abilities or passions or drive. Help me to recognize that what I accomplish is actually because You are accomplishing it through me and help me to truly understand and believe that without You I can do nothing.]
